The Maine State Police are continuing to search for a teenage girl who was reported missing in September.
Stefanie Damron, now 14, was reported missing on Sept. 24, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss. Stefanie turned 14 in the past week.
According to police, Stefanie was last seen walking out of her house and into the woods on West Road in New Sweden.
The state police described Damron as standing 5 feet tall, weighing 130 pounds, and having green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair.
She was wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeve blue shirt and black Harley Davidson hiking boots at the time of her disappearance.
Stefani’s disappearance is being investigated by multiple state police units, including the state’s computer crimes unit. The FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team is also part of the search for the Aroostook County teen.
The state’s K9 unit was deployed to search the area Stefanie was last seen. No search updates have been provided.
Numerous interviews have been conducted, with police extending their search across the nation and into Canada.
“We’d once again ask that you keep an eye out for anyone that may look like her, or share any information you may have regarding this case with us,” the state police said in a social media post last week.
Anyone with information about Stefanie’s whereabouts can call the state police at 800-924-2261 or 207-532-5400.
