U.S. Sen. Angus King will face off against his Republican and Democratic opponents at 7 p.m. Monday in the first of debates before the Nov. 5 election. King, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, is running for his third term against Republican Demi Kouzounas, Democrat David Costello and independent Jason Cherry.
The debate, hosted by CBS News 13 and the Bangor Daily News, will not include Cherry because he didn’t meet a requirement that candidates reach at least 5 percent support in a public and independent poll of the election.
