Former President Bill Clinton will campaign in Maine this week for Kamala Harris.
Clinton will travel to southern Maine on Friday for the Democratic vice president and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, according to Harris for Maine.
The campaign didn’t disclose where Clinton would visit in southern Maine on Wednesday morning.
He’s the most high-profile surrogate to visit the Pine Tree State for Harris and Walz. First gentleman Douglas Emhoff stumped for Democrats back in July just after President Joe Biden announced he wouldn’t run for reelection following a disastrous debate performance in June. Walz’s wife, Gwen, visited Maine in September and was scheduled to again this month before canceling for undisclosed reasons.
Clinton’s visit comes less than a week before Election Day and as Decision Desk HQ, the Bangor Daily News’ national election results partner, currently has former President Donald Trump as the slight favorite over Harris in the final week.
