Sister Wives’ Christine Brown has moved on from ex-husband Kody Brown — but that doesn’t mean she’s unfazed by his comments about their relationship.
“I get frustrated and hurt,” Christine, 52, exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly, referring to Kody’s negative remarks about reportedly not loving any of his ex-wives.
Christine and Kody, 55, split in November 2021 after more than 25 years of being part of a spiritual marriage. Christine’s sister wives Janelle Brown and Meri Brown left Kody in December 2022 and January 2023, respectively.
Kody, who is still married to fourth wife Robyn Brown, has claimed on the TLC series that he had “terrible relationships” prior to his breakups, calling his wedding to Christine “sad” during the Sunday, October 27, episode.
Christine Brown Says Ex Kody Texted Her About ‘Soulmate’ David Woolley
Christine, who got remarried to David Woolley in October 2023, tells Us that she finds solace in her spouse while watching back the show.
“I just talk to David about it because I would never do the things [Kody] accuses me of doing,” Christine explains, referring to Kody’s allegations that she and Janelle, 55, poisoned their respective children against him post-divorce.
“David [says], ‘No one’s going to believe that. Everyone knows you’re not going to pit your kids against Kody,’” Christine says, noting that “divorces are hard.”
She confesses that “having to hear what’s being said about you behind your back is really difficult.”
In the latest Sister Wives episode, Kody hinted that he had “f— and fight” relationships with his first three wives. “I was in terrible relationships but wasn’t willing to discard them, didn’t want to discard them,” he said during Sunday’s episode.
Kody Brown Is Sister Wives’ Antihero — and Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way
Kody also alleged that having an “F&F” style romance where the “second word is fight” is not healthy. “That doesn’t create intimacy, that just creates orgasms,” he added.
Christine, for her part, previously talked about their lack of intimacy and alleged that Kody was absent from their family. “I was the one my kids would listen to and I was the one my kids talked to,” she told the cameras during a September 2023 episode. “And if they needed to feel love or security or acceptance, they got that from me.”
Despite insult-slinging on both sides, Christine says she’s in a better place after leaving Kody, with whom she shares six children. “Kody doesn’t define me — I define me,” she tells Us.
While Christine doesn’t love seeing Kody and his remarks on camera, she says it’s “fun” to see the show “through David’s eyes” now that he’s filming.
Sister Wives’ Christine Snubs Ex Kody on Father’s Day — But Shows Fiance Love
When it comes to how David fits into the family, Christine tells Us that she “dreaded” him meeting Kody. “We realized everyone’s going to do the best they can,” she shares. “We’re going to be in the same space for the rest of our lives. We just need to be adults about it. David and Kody handled it fine. They were gentlemen.”
As for herself, Christine says she’s evolved as well. “I’m stronger than I ever thought I was,” she says of her life after leaving Kody. “I’m very grateful for everything that happened to lead me here. I love where I’m at.”
