Bangor has continued a roll of unusual warmth for this late in the year.
On Wednesday, the observed high reached 75 degrees Fahrenheit in the Queen City, according to the National Weather Service.
That tied the record of 75 degrees for the date set on Nov. 6, 1938, according to the weather service office in Caribou. That’s based on records for Bangor dating back to 1925.
Wednesday’s warmth comes less than a week after Bangor saw record-breaking heat on Halloween, with the mercury rising to 78 degrees, surpassing the old record of 71 degrees set in 1956.
That also was the warmest it’s been so late in the year, surpassing the previous record, which also happened to be Nov. 6, 1938.
Meanwhile, Caribou saw record-breaking heat, with the thermometer reaching 72 degrees, overtaking the record of 71 degrees set in 2022. That’s based on records for the city dating back to 1939, according to the weather service.
