BANGOR – The City of Bangor is excited to announce a new municipal website that offers residents a more attractive and user-friendly online experience.
The process of rolling out the new site began in June when the City introduced the online platform by which residents can file a request for service, called SeeClickFix. More than 180 such requests have since been submitted to the City using SeeClickFix.
The rest of the website, including a mass notification system, is now available. The address for the City’s website will remain bangormaine.gov.
The City contracted with CivicPlus to build the new site because the current one is more than 10 years old and while it offers a broad amount of information, it’s outdated, difficult to update and lacked accessibility. We hope users find a better experience with the new, user friendly website. Residents can easily find News & Updates, social media links, and the City meeting calendar on the homepage.
Residents are strongly encouraged to register on the new site and sign up for alerts and notifications. People who had previously subscribed on the current site must provide a fresh registration on the new one.
For alerts related to closures, emergency alerts, Community Connector service changes, and press releases, be sure to sign up with Bangor Alerts.
For bids, calendar updates, job listings, and agendas specifically, sign up via Notify Me by clicking the blue button labeled “Alerts & Notifications” on the homepage or by scrolling to the bottom of the homepage.
The City will continue to add and revise content in the coming weeks and appreciate the public’s patience as we all learn the new website.
