A pregnant woman was injured after her vehicle was involved in a head-on crash on the Maine Turnpike on Friday evening.
Stephan Adams, 30, of Windham, had been northbound in the southbound lane near mile marker 53 Friday evening before striking a southbound vehicle head on, resulting in minor injuries, according to Lt. Aaron Turcotte of the Maine State Police.
The pregnant driver, along with her passenger, were evaluated at the scene and then transported to the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Adams, who was also injured in the crash, was transported to Maine Medical Center as well.
Officials believe that Adams had been impaired when driving, and he has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and driving to endanger.
