A semi-truck burned early Monday morning on the Maine Turnpike in Auburn.
Bradley Miller was driving a Peterbilt 567 tow truck hauling a 2018 Kenworth north on Interstate 95, near mile marker 75, about 3:45 a.m. when a tire on the Kenworth ignited, according to Maine State Police Lt. Aaron Turcotte.
The fire spread to the rest of the truck, Miller disengaged the Kenworth from the tow truck, which was undamaged, Turcotte said Monday.
Miller wasn’t injured. The Kenworth was completely consumed by flames.
It’s unclear what caused the tire to ignite.
