The westbound side of Interstate 395 was closed on Monday morning.
That’s because of multiple crashes and ice on the bridge carrying the highway over the Penobscot River between Bangor and Brewer, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
It’s unclear at this time how many vehicles were involved in the crash and the nature and extent of any injuries.
No additional information was immediately available.
