A man was rescued Wednesday morning after he fell through pond ice in Industry.
David Beaudoin, 68, of Industry was on Clearwater Pond when he fell through the ice about 15 feet from shore, according to Mark Latti, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
Game Warden York Cody was checking on an ice fisherman, Miles Pelletier of Industry, about 11 a.m. when both men heard Beaudoin’s cries for help from across the pond, Latti said Wednesday night.
They drove over to Moes Cove Road to investigate and found Beaudoin in over his head.
York and Pelletier threw a rope to Beaudoin and dragged him out of the water and to shore, according to Latti.
Beaudoin was “extremely hypothermic” and unable to talk or move after the ordeal. York and Pelletier warmed Beaudoin in the game warden’s truck until first responders arrived to take him to Northern Light Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
Beaudoin recovered from the ordeal, and his family told York later that day he was able to eat and was fully alert.
