A good Samaritan was hit Wednesday night while helping another driver who crashed into a tree.
The first driver crashed into a tree on Sea Road in Kennebunk, according to Kennebunk Fire and Rescue.
The good Samaritan, who was staying across the street, came to the driver’s aid. They feared another vehicle would hit the first because the crash had taken out its lights.
“Unfortunately within moments of rendering aid to the driver that is exactly what happened,” Kennebunk Fire and Rescue said in a statement.
A second vehicle hit the first, which then hit the good Samaritan.
The driver was taken to a Biddeford hospital, while the good Samaritan was taken to a Portland hospital.
Information about their conditions was immediately available.
No additional information was released.
