Three people have been arrested for setting fire to a vehicle in Steuben last October.
Cameron Brown, 30, of Steuben has been charged with arson and theft, while 38-year-old William Smeal and 37-year-old Taylor Keene, both of Ellsworth, have been charged with arson, criminal conspiracy and criminal attempt for insurance deception, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The trio allegedly set the vehicle, which belonged to Keene, ablaze on Pinkham Bay Bridge Road on Oct. 13, 2024.
Brown was arrested shortly after the fire, Moss said Thursday.
As the investigation continued, officials identified Smeal and Keene as suspects, and police arrested them Wednesday at their home in Ellsworth.
Keene and Smeal were taken to the Hancock County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
