The only Cracker Barrel restaurant in Maine has closed its doors for good.
An employee told CBS 13 that staff found out about the closure when they showed up to work at the store by the Maine Mall in South Portland.
In a statement, the company said the South Portland restaurant was unable to overcome a loss in business coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic along with “other challenges.”
The company will try to find employees jobs in other locations.
The South Portland Cracker Barrel was open for nearly 15 years.
