Lili Reinhart gushed about her boyfriend Jack Martin’s support as she navigated a chronic illness last year.
Reinhart, 28, praised Martin, 26, for his “love and support” via Instagram Stories on Thursday, January 23, following her candid interview with Self magazine.
The cover story, titled “Lili Reinhart Is Fighting for Her Health — and Yours,” was published on Wednesday, January 22. In the interview, the Riverdale actress revealed that she had been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, a chronic illness which causes a person’s bladder or bladder wall to become irritated and inflamed.

“Also. Never in my life could I have gotten through this without my partner. It’s not easy to have a chronically ill girlfriend — when I spent months barely leaving the house, couldn’t walk due to pain, and felt incredibly depressed due to the shift in my quality of life,” Reinhart wrote alongside a candid image of Martin via Instagram Stories.
“Jack’s love and support has never waivered for a second during a time when my body was truly falling apart,” she added.
Reinhart and fellow actor Martin were first linked in April 2023, when they were spotted kissing outside of LAX. Since then, they have made multiple public appearances together, including at red-carpet events. They also frequently post about one another on Instagram.
Most recently, Martin and Reinhart shared a holiday-themed photo shoot with their dog on Instagram in December.
“Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from our little family,” they captioned the post.
In her Self interview, Reinhart shared the difficult journey to finally reaching a diagnosis after months of doctor’s visits and procedures, including a cystoscopy. The star also posted a series of photos from various medical appointments via Instagram on Thursday.
“Being diagnosed with interstitial cystitis while simultaneously searching for answers about a mysterious autoimmunity/inflammatory disease made 2024 the hardest year of my life,” Reinhart wrote in the caption.

“I was inspired to talk about this after my grandmother was ignored by doctors for months when exhibiting clear symptoms of cancer — and it was only after her own strength and advocation for herself that she was given a blood test that diagnosed her. And by then, the cancer had spread,” she added.
Reinhart continued: “The most important thing I have taken away from this experience is the absolute need to advocate for your own health. Do not let a doctor gaslight you or diminish your pain. I hope the men & women out there struggling to find answers feel even the slightest bit seen by my experience.”
